The link between Tea and Tai Chi is rooted in the deep history of China. Both of them are integral elements of traditional Chinese culture.

A Tea Ceremony embodies the ideas of the ancient Taoists that the energy exchange with tea is the way to experience mindfulness and be present in the moment.

Tea and Tai Chi are linked through their spirit as they both contribute to mind and body perfection. Thus, awareness and silence can be equally practiced through the habit of tea drinking ceremony, and by practicing the Tai Chi. Tai Chi, Tea and the principles of Taoism are closely related to each other.

We step into this world from silence, living as a part of it in harmony and balance with nature. The Taoist concept, “tea-mind”, in other words, "the way of being present in the world, the way of living a life of grace and gratitude and being able to see the spiritual in the supposedly material." This is the heart of Taoism, and this is the Path of Tea (茶道chádào). And it is also the path of Tai Chi.

The tea originated in China with earliest records dating back to the 10th century BC, and it has been an important part of Chinese tradition for thousands of years. The Chinese philosopher Laozi described tea as a “liquid jade” and called it an ultimate ingredient of the elixir of life which makes an important contribution to our health and longevity. The ancient Taoists followed nature’s path ... and therefore the Taoists were fond of tea, because tea is a part of nature. Tea is the path of Tao.

Before practicing Tai Chi we recommend having a Tea Ceremony. It brings a whole spectrum of positive effects such as good spirits, vigor, mindfulness, joy from social interaction and much more. Being a part of the group, seeing and practicing with other people, you can exchange the vibrations of positive energy. Tea also connects people and reflects the human relations in the world.

The world of Tea and Tai Chi exists in harmony with nature.
